OUR STORY

Where discipline meets intensity, and warriors are forged

Training facility

WHO WE ARE

Look, we're not your typical gym with rows of treadmills and motivational posters. Grimward Continuum started back in 2018 when a couple of us - ex-military, martial artists, and strength coaches - got tired of seeing people wasting time on cookie-cutter fitness routines that didn't deliver real results.

We set up shop in an old warehouse off Ironworks Avenue with one mission: build a space where people could train like their lives depended on it. No gimmicks, no shortcuts - just raw, effective combat conditioning and functional strength work that actually transforms you.

The name? Grimward's about standing guard over your goals with serious determination. Continuum represents the journey - there's no finish line here, just constant evolution. We've grown from that bare-bones warehouse to Vancouver's go-to spot for folks who want training that pushes boundaries.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Combat-tested principles that build real strength, not just gym strength

RESILIENCE FIRST

It's not about being the biggest or fastest - it's about being unbreakable. We train your mind as hard as your body because mental toughness is what separates quitters from finishers. You'll learn to push through when everything's telling you to stop.

FUNCTIONAL POWER

We don't care how much you can bench press if you can't move explosively when it matters. Every exercise here has a purpose - building strength that transfers to real-world situations. Whether you're hauling gear or defending yourself, your body needs to work as one unit.

WARRIOR COMMUNITY

You don't train alone here. We've built something special - a crew that pushes each other harder and celebrates every victory together. There's no ego battles or competition BS. Just people committed to getting better, supporting others who want the same thing.

MEET THE TEAM

The people who'll push you past what you thought was possible

Marcus Reid

Marcus "Reaper" Reid

HEAD COACH & FOUNDER

Former infantry with 8 years in combat zones, Marcus brought military conditioning protocols to civilians. He's got a weird obsession with burpees and somehow makes people thank him for it. Certified in Krav Maga and Olympic lifting - yeah, he's intense but he genuinely cares about your progress.

Sarah Chen

Sarah "Storm" Chen

METABOLIC SPECIALIST

Don't let the smile fool you - Sarah's HIIT bootcamps are brutal. She competed in MMA for 6 years before transitioning to coaching. She's brilliant at scaling workouts so everyone gets wrecked at their own level. Also runs our nutrition coaching because she actually understands how fuel affects performance.

Dmitri Volkov

Dmitri Volkov

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Former powerlifter who moved into functional strength training after blowing out his back doing stupid ego lifts. Now he teaches people to move heavy weight safely and explosively. His accent's thick but his coaching cues are crystal clear. If you want to get strong without destroying yourself, Dmitri's your guy.

Jade Martinez

Jade Martinez

COMBAT CONDITIONING

Boxing and Muay Thai background with hands that move like lightning. She'll teach you to hit properly and condition you like a fighter even if you never plan to step in a ring. Her combat circuits are no joke - expect to discover muscles you didn't know existed.

Kyle Morrison

Kyle Morrison

ENDURANCE & RECOVERY

Ultra-marathon runner turned all-around endurance freak. Kyle handles our warrior circuits and makes sure people understand that recovery isn't weakness - it's strategy. He's the calm voice of reason when everyone else is yelling at you to push harder. Sports therapy certified too, so he knows how to keep you moving.

Alex Thompson

Alex Thompson

PERSONAL TRAINING LEAD

Started as a member here three years ago, couldn't stay away, now she's part of the crew. Alex specializes in getting beginners comfortable with high-intensity training without scaring them off. She's proof that you don't need to be a superhuman athlete to thrive here - just willing to show up and work.

Training space

THE FACILITY

We've got 7,500 square feet of purpose-built training space. No cardio theater with TVs everywhere - just quality equipment, heavy bags, rig systems, sleds, and open floor space for getting after it.

Everything's industrial-grade because we beat the hell out of it daily. The floors are rubber, the walls have taken their share of medicine balls, and there's chalk dust everywhere. It's not pretty, but it works.

Separate areas for strength work, combat conditioning, and metabolic training mean classes don't trip over each other. We've also got recovery stations with foam rollers and mobility tools because smart training includes taking care of your body.
